Tail Chew

So my Chinchilla has started to chew the tip of her tail. How do I get her to stop? She chews that she's making her tail bleed and using the hairs as bristles. I keep coming home to find a new bloody masterpiece on her wood shelf.

I rubbed neosporin on it.

Normally, chins don't chew their tails, so there is obviously something wrong. I think this would be a good time for a vet visit.
