I know safe wood list, not sure about safe materials. Safe wood
Personally though, I know that chinchillas should have no access to plastic, string/yarn, and cardboard. Cardboard is more iffy, as some chins just shred it. But I've witnessed some chin owners say that their chins actually ingest cardboard, which is very dangerous, so I just avoid it altogether with my chins.
