Sometimes.

The bigger question is, though, are you intending to breed? If you put male and female together, you assume there will be babies.

If that is what you are thinking, please spend some time looking through the forum for information before you get started.

Males and females will breed. Breeding is a hard process, please read through the forum before you even think about thinking about it.

Same-sex pairs do great together.

male-female pairs, same as same-sex pairs, may get along wonderfully or they may hurt and even kill each other. the only difference between same-sex pairs and male-female pairs is the babies.

To give a very general answer to your question, as stated, you cannot say how any two chinchillas will get along with each other. Males and females get along no better or worse than two males or two females. Also, one female may get along with one male just fine and may try (and/or succeed) at killing a different male.

Some times they do some times they dont, I have had some that I just think that their personalities they just were not ment to be.

Make sure you are ready and prepared for babys if they are not spayed or neutered, do your research first not latter.
