Is Spruce safe for chins?

I was looking at the safe and unsafe woods and I couldn't find if spruce was safe or unsafe for chins, the reason why I am asking, is because they sell shavings made out of pine and spruce combined, so wondering if it would ever be safe to purchase that kind, so I could know myself and if ever someone asks I can let them know as well.

HI Kathy, spruce is not safe wood for chins, just get aspen or kiln dried pine for shavings for them.
