I want to purchase a longboard- advice?

Is anyone here into longboarding/skateboarding? I am looking into getting my nephew a longboard for his b-day (it's on his list). He is 6'4" and 190-200lbs and wants a board for cruising around his college campus. The research I've done makes me think that fiberglass might be the best option- sturdier and more durable (and a bit more expensive).

Does anyone have any good advice for me?

I'd find a skate shop and give a gift certificate, much easier! LOL

Bah! I thought you meant surfboard. Go to a skate/surf shop and talk to the guys that work there. Most of them are avid boarders and can give you great advice.
