Help need advice

I am fighting with my husband. He just brought home a cat that appears to have a cold. Sneezing etc. we are bringing to the vet tomorrow. He wants to house this cat in the same room as my chinchillas. We have 2 other cats so if she is sick, we need to keep him separated. He tells me that it can't transmit between species. Is he correct???

No he is not correct. There have been cases of chins contracting bordatella (which was fatal to the chins) and toxoplasmosis from cats.

Can the sick cat be kept in the bathroom?

Yes, definitely separate. Chins can be very sensitive!
