Hedgie clans?

I don't own any hedgehogs at this time, hopefully in a year or so when I can move to a location that allows them.

But I do have a question:

How many hedgehogs of the same sex can live together peacefully provided enough habitat space? Are they best as singles or pairs, or can the live in same sex groups of 3 or 4?

although i'm not a hedgie person, what i have seen on this forum is that hedgies live alone in their own cages best. others with more hedgie experience will chime in soon i'm sure.

i would say they are solitary animals.

Female hedgies will sometimes get along, but putting two males together is just asking for trouble.

I agree with everything said. Males will fight. To the death possibly. Females can live together depending on the hog but you need 1 item for each hedgie. So if you have 2 together you will need 2 wheels, 2 hidey holes, 2 food dishes etc. You also need a back up plan if they don't or stop getting along at anytime.
