I keep my chin inside so I wouldn't think the temp changes too much inside... But he seems to be getting fat! I haven't been feeding him more than I normally do but he seems bigger. He chews on his fur and its finally grown back completely so maybe that could be it? I was just wondering if maybe chinchillas know to eat more for the colder months because of instincts. I live in Indiana so the weather does get cold. Thanks :) I hope this doesn't seem like a stupid question!

No such thing as a stupid question - Actually the only stupid question is the one NOT asked. I have found that my chins eat more in the winter and definitely grow more coat in the winter even though the temperatures are regulated by me.
