My chinchilla made several noises last night (according to this website,

the sound is the defense sound). He made it a couple of times last night, which is rare for him. I got him out of the cage and examined him thoroughly, he did not make any pained noises while I was checking him over and I found nothing wrong. After i placed him back in his cage, he didn't make the noises anymore. I am concerned, but I don't know if I am overreacting or not. He was just at the vet last week and got a clean bill of health. Should I just keep my eye on him or should I start panicking?

My guys make that sound when their cage mate grooms them too hard, or when I pick them up and they're not in the mood. What was happening when he made that sound?
