I went down to check on the chins this morning before leaving for work and Cead and Cuda were cuddled up together like normal. However, my white Cuda had sprouted a little gray tail... So far, Cead has one little standard (looks like) girl and looked like she was starting the process of #2 when I left. I will update with weights and pictures when I get home. So excited!

This day is dragging so so slowly. I still have 4 more hours at work til I get to go home! Boo!

Keith's parents are watching for signs of complications, but otherwise leaving her alone. So far, I have no call which means things are good.

The verdict is one standard little boy! Unless there is a very well hidden slit. Mom is doing great, munching hay and nursing him. I'll get pics in a few for those who don't have me on facebook. The little guy is 65g.

Alrighty! Here are the pics of the little guy.

And for anyone who asks about the wire, the finishing touches of tightening were put on it tonight. Mr. Procrastination finally had no choice BUT to finish it with him born. And the little guy needs a name!

PRETTY BABY!!! Man, those ladies sure have gone to town on their hidey house ;-)

Name Suggestions: Caspian or Gandalf

Haha yeah, they're in need of a new house, I just keep forgetting to pick one up at the store when I'm there. And that would be Mom and Dad :neener:

Did you intend to let the female have a breedback or did you forget to remove the male? I hope you're going to remove him when the next litter of kits are born.

I've taken my advice from many other colony and pair breeders who do not pull the male. Cuda isn't an aggressive breeder, so he gets one shot to stay with mom. If he breedsback, he will be pulled from now on.
