Hey guys so I know there are different types of chinchilla supplements and can get them from online vendors. My question is does a chinchilla need to have supplement or is it just used like for baby chins or for chins that need more nutrients. How will I know if a chin needs more nutrients to give them supplement. If they do need supplement how much is an ideal amount to give them.

Thanks in advanced!!

A healthy chin should not need any supplements. Good quality pellets and hay, fresh water and the occasional healthy treat are all chins need.

Supplements are more for specific issues, like if your chin has heart problems or has arthritis or if your chin is recovering from an illness, injury, or surgery. You would know by your chin being ill or not acting right and your vet diagnosing a problem. There are some broad spectrum supplements and digestive supplements that can be fed daily, but personally I don't feed them. They may not do any harm but if you are feeding a good quality diet a healthy fit chin doesn't need them.
