After weaning housing

Hi,
I've been focusing so much on researching babies and what to know with them at a young age..that I hadn't really thought about this.

Once Momma's kit is weaned off her can I put baby in a cage with wood ledges?
The cage I have for him is about 2 ft tall.

I didn't know if I had to keep him in a carrier for a bit.

I've read they can't have a wheel for a while? (for growing purposes I suppose)
That's sort've what lead me to this confusion..

i wean mine kits in a 2 foot tall cage with ledges, but no wheel. They do just fine in them.
