Ellie and Abby have lived side by side for over a year until suddenly a few months ago Abby seems to have snapped whenever it’s her turn to come out she is focused on trying to bite Ellie through the bars from the bottom of the cage. I have since separated the cages on different walls but it’s still the same room. Right now separate rooms isn’t possible. Is there anything else can do to distract Abby from going after Ellie’s cage the moment she runs out she looks for her to attempt to engage her. She tries to bite her face through the bars. :( Abby also has started stress chewing because she seems jealous or aggressive toward Ellie.

One option is putting a physical barrier to block off the cage so Abby can't get to Ellie's cage, like a playpen, fencing, or even flattened cardboard boxes to make a barrier (cover in fleece if they try to chew it). I've also seen people have luck with putting a fleece blanket over the bottom half of the cage while the other chin is out, that way they can't see each other.
