    What's new?

New software seems pretty cool. I’ve had chins since 2005 or 6 I think. My original Polo passed away a couple years ago. I still Have his cage mare Baba. Ive adopted a couple more and fostered quite a bit more. i think I’ve gotten married and has a kid since I was on here last. We also...

    Bumblefoot

On the side of the epsom salt box it has a ratio for foot soaks. I followed that and used it to dampen a paper towel. Then I held the paper towel on my chins feet for as long as they would allow. Then dried, and bag balmed.

    Chin Fight

I've never had success re-introducing after a fight. I like the suggestion of trying it out during playtime though.

Cleaning fleece liners and potty training supplies...

I haven't been on here for a while and I am suprised at some of the answers! A couple years back most people were recommending to not use regular laundry detergent. I think the suggestion was some vinegar or a "green" detergent instead. The common thought was the scents and chemicals in...

    Pre-Made Toys

Can you tell me how much it would be for a medium flat rate box with the chinchilla garland and a bunch of hanging toys?

    Weight gain in PCSR

I've notice a small 50-100g gain over the course of a year. I was originally feeding Mazuri. Nothing too dramatic to cause worry though.

Cremating a pet? Picking out an urn?

I have the same fears of burying a pet in the yard and then leaving them behind if my life changes. The 3 vets I have gone to offer individual cremations. With the rescues I have them cremated in the group cremation. With my own pets I get them cremated and put in an urn or box. Whatever...

    Toxic dog treats.

I use the same brands as you. For training purposes this started to get really really expensive. Yesterday when I was grocery shopping I found some clearance beef stew meat (a roast pre cut into cubes). I chopped it up even more and then browned it. I got 2.2lbs of 100% all beef treats for...

Question about being pregnant and careing for chins

When I researched it the only reports I could find were for mice and hamsters. I erred on the safe side and started wearing a mask and gloves. I've never seen any wild mice in my chin room so I don't know if I was over doing it or not.

Question about being pregnant and careing for chins

I don't want to freak anyone out but when I was pregnant I was told to be careful around rodents because they can carry lymphocytic choriomeningitis. Has anyone else heard of it?

help with food allergies for my frenchie

If you don't want to do testing I would try a limited ingredient diet. California Natural is a great LID kibble. With a LID you can more accurately pin point the source of the problem.

    Bentley

I'm sorry about Bentley, Stacie. You and Diesel gave him the best life possible.

How often do you bath your dog?

It depends on the dog and the dog breed. A well bred lab is meant to have a good thick but not fluffy under coat and a really nice water resistant outer coat. The outer coat can easily be stripped of the water resistance by too much shampooing. Their skin is also adapted to having a lot of...

    Seaweed?

How often would a chin run into something like seaweed in the wild? While it probably wouldn't hurt them it probably isn't necessarily beneficial for them either.

How often do you bath your dog?

If/when they get stinky or oily. When I first got them they needed a bath every couple months. Good food and a healthy lifestyle has improved both of their coats and made bathing necessary probably once a year. I have a lab and a corgi. They get good rinses after swimming but that is with...

Why get a wheel at all?

The wheel and ball move in slightly different ways. When a chin jumps/runs forward it pushes with its back legs. In a free standing wheel this would mean the surface under the chin is pushed backwards making the wheel spin forwards. In a ball the surface under the chin is met with the...

    Need Help Sexing Chins *pics*

They look like females to me too. The cones are right up against the anus and both cones appear to have slits.
