    F&O Loofah

Good to know! It took over a month to get my order in January. I was thinking of getting more but I won't now. Thanks!

    Critique my cage please!

That looks great, and I wanted to commend you for being SO willing to learn and take constructive critism and you actually sought out an opinion! You have one lucky baby!

    The Ferret Nation Club

I think they are asking how you would reach the 3rd level, not the chin. I think I would have to stand on a chair lol I am too short! :D

    Cage question

I love their pans, they may come a little dented, but a rubber mallot (sp) will bang them right out. UPS likes to dent the pans. You're welcome :D

    Cage question

If you end up buying a Ferret nation cage, you can get a custom sheet metal pan that fits the cage from Bass Pans too.

    They're getting weird...

Sleeping on wheels and sitting on food dishes, are quite normal for them :D They are silly creatures :D I have a picture of one of mine, running with his grapevine wreath and flipping it on his head. The dog licking them is bad in my opinion, they can transmit disease that way, and you...

    Tortured by children chinchilla

Are you really implying your chinchilla knew you were disgusted by her cage smelling???

    Raisins: Why are they evil?

Raisins are found to be toxic to quite a few animals. Raisins have too much sugar, and can eventually cause gas from the high amount of sugar, and with all the actually known safe treats, I agree with the above, why risk it. When it comes to chins, there isnt much on scientific anything.

My chin started to keep attacking me...:(

Is the female in with him? he could be protecting his turf now. He will get over it. Fuzzy got really mad when we had brought home a female, and after about a month, he settled down. My males and females, Never ever interact with one another, I do not breed, i take in those that need homes...

Has anyone ever gotten a "free" chinchilla?

I have gotten a couple that were free. However, the care I needed to put back in to them to get them to health was not cheap, so in the end they were some of the most expensive ones. I had 2 that came to me free, and with their supplies, but smelled so bad, it made me want to vomit. They were...

Chinchilla not eating, small infrequent poop, lethargic

Part of her stress level is what she was carried in. I have not had one chin overly freak out on any car ride and the E vet is well over an hour from me, when my vet isnt available. Do they chew on the bars of the carrier, sure, but they are chins they do that. I agree, with out a proper...

    Chin digging in his pellets

Mine too, once I switched, it stopped. What feed are you using and do you put treats in that dish too? I know putting treats in the dish can cause digging.

Chinchilla not eating, small infrequent poop, lethargic

Agreed, I also question your vets actual capabilities, if they didnt want to check these things first as well, and just handed you all of that to do, with out warrant. I would go back for X rays.

Does your dog get along well with your chin(s)?

I have only read a few horror stories about dogs and escaped chins, and it is usually the smaller dogs that tend to hurt them (only by what i have read). I agree with the above posters that as long as your dog is never in the room when the chin is out, it most likely wont be an issue.

Chinchilla not eating, small infrequent poop, lethargic

I agree, the cardboard is not going to offer any ventilation, holes or not. She could also get nervous and chew through the cardboard fast. Good luck with your chin, I hope you get answers. I would suggest nixing the raisins as well, they are not the safest chin treat in the world and if she...

My leg hurts really bad, but I have no insurance

Just keep in mind the ER is not a fix all. They are meant to diagnose, if they can and give initial treatment and cant replace a family dr. Do you qualify for assistance? I know that doesnt help now, but for down the road. Good luck on getting relief.

Adapting ferret/critter nation cages for chinchillas

If price isnt an issue, I always say, go for the 2 level. It isnt needed to have the 2nd level, but the chin would love it.
