    420 Chinchillas Rescued

The part about SDHS claiming all was hunky dory on their part ticks me off!!! They couldn't get the animals out the door fast enough and there were PLENTY of negative comments on their Facebook page.

    420 Chinchillas Rescued

6 months from now remind me to post screen shots of all of the San Diego Craigslist "chinchilla(s)" search results on their website... Maybe even sooner when all of these adopters get sick of cleaning/feedng all of these chins who are not used to being handled and don't curl up on their lap...

    420 Chinchillas Rescued

Too late... chins already ARE dying... So far I have found 1 CONFIRMED case. I just left another post on the SDHS FB page...

Saying that they weren't going to harm the chins is different than condoning how they ran their ranch. Neither Dreamlite nor I agree with their practices. I made this statement because PETA is using THAT angle to gain sympathy for their cause. Nothing more nothing less.

    420 Chinchillas Rescued

The point I was trying to make with regards to my earlier statement had to do with nothing more than their motivation. They wanted big bucks for the herd. Pelt price even on all 430 of them would have brought peanuts... Would have been no where near the value they seemed to think they were...

    420 Chinchillas Rescued

Valley View wanted SOOOOO much money to sell this herd. I guarantee that if they thought that those 430 ish chins were worth close to 70 grand which was their initial asking price there was NO WAY in heck they were just going to pelt them...

    420 Chinchillas Rescued

This whole thing is NOTHING but a FIASCO from start to finish. They were paid 50 grand for the herd by a celebrity named Sam Simon. He then paid another 100 grand to the San Diego Humane Society for their care. They are already adopting out females to people who are taking them straight home...

    HELP ! Aggressive Chinchilla

If the chins are pedigreed and appropriately paired I see nothing wrong with putting a 10 month old into breeding. The problem I DO see here is trying to keep both females together... There is a BIG age gap between the two females. The 3 month old is WAAAAAAY too young to even have supervised...

    Preparing For A Play Date

I have had customers ask if they can bring their chin here to pair up and I NEVER allow it. Even if a chin gets along initially with another somewhere else that does not mean they will still get along once they are back on their home turf. If someone wants to try and pair their adult chin with...

My chin doesn't want to eat or drink water.Help!!!

It is ok if she wears more of the CC than actually consumes. Getting ANY little bit that you can into her is what is crucial right now.

Got new cage... It's crooked >.<

With Ebay you also have their buyer protection... there is a time limit however. Double check with their terms/conditions but I believe off the top of my head that you have 45 days from the date of the transaction.... Glad to hear they are being cooperative...

Got new cage... It's crooked >.<

I have had replacement pieces sent to me from Midwest for a cage ordered through Dr. Foster n Smith..... Yes I took pics of the areas that were bad. In the end though I GOT the replacements... Maybe try calling again hoping to get a different representative. I have always had good luck with...

    Very small female chin

Just curious...what color is she??? Some mutations like sapphires are more prone to being small... For example I would expect a sapphire to be a heck of a lot smaller than say a standard grey. That IS a really small size though but as long as she is healthy otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

    How exciting!

Might want to offer some JAGS supplement and see if that takes the edge off before starting to rotate. Still might have to rotate but doesn't hurt to try that first. I like to intervene as less as possible.

    2014 Atlantic Chapter show

Why not just see who all wants to go out to eat somewhere after??? I'll go... Honestly that is probably cheaper anyway... I forget what all eateries are around there... bound to be somewhere good though...

Silver Surfer in a CN cage? anyone done this?

I remember twisting at an angle to get the first hanger in and squeezing the bars to force the second one. It wasn't easy. Looking back I could have EASILY damaged the cage doing what I did which is why I recommended against using it. I just don't want to see you damage your cage is all...

Silver Surfer in a CN cage? anyone done this?

I managed to somehow get a Silver Surfer onto a Critter Nation once when I was first getting into chins...I'll NEVER get it back off without damaging the bars. I honestly wouldn't try it... Maybe you can sell the wheel and get something else.
