How common are bladder stones in chinchillas, and what are the risk factors?

Can two double CNs be combined to make a larger cage, like two FNs can? I already have a double CN and am thinking of getting either another double CN or single unit but want to combine them horizontally and not vertically, if that makes sense. Can't seem to find an answer to this question...
