It's solid metal/aluminum! I never put plastic in his cage :) Although I heard it needed to be at least 14in so the one I ordered is 14in... I hope that isn't too small. I guess I can just keep an eye on him and see if it's too small for him and if it is I can buy a new one... Really sucks...
