    Chinchilla thrusting body forward

Hello, my chin Walt has done the exact same thing a few times. First noticed it when he was just under a year old and freaked out about it. It hasn't happened too often but when it has its always during and after he's cleaned his male parts. I spoke to my vet about it when it first happened and...

    Concerned about urine colour!

Thank you for your response. I was so worried last night. I read about bladder stones on Google and it really stressed me out. I've just never seen his urine that colour before. His appetite is low too which had me concerned but he's in good form otherwise. I'll keep an eye on his appetite.

    Concerned about urine colour!

Hello. I'm really concerned about my chin Walt. The past week I've noticed his appetite is a little off which isn't unusual for him. He can go through phases of not eating much. He's in good form and just there he enjoyed some play time running and jumping around. I noticed one spot in his cage...

Please please help me!!! I don't know what else to do.

Also when washing walt do I wet him all over or just the area where the ringworm is visible. Vet said 50ml water to 1ml Imaverol. I'm just nervous about washing him

Please please help me!!! I don't know what else to do.

Yes the vet prescribed Imaveral but I'm afraid to wash walt in it because I've read it's bad to get a chin wet. I will wash Walt in it and hope it will clear. To be honest I think its walt that gave the ringworm back. My partner and I are not around other animals and with covid 19 we only leave...

Please please help me!!! I don't know what else to do.

I have already posted on the forum regarding this. Long story short I got two chinchillas in poor condition and covered in ringworm. Disney passed away and left his brother walt with us. Walt will be 8 months old the end of the week and in that time he's had ringworm for about 6 of those...

    Blocked tear duct

Hi all, My chinchilla Walt has had a weeping eye since I got him. His vet treated him with two types of eye drops and it did not seem to clear up. The vet said he possibly has a blocked tear duct. Is this something a chin can suffer with? Walt is due a check up because he unfortunately had a...

    Ringworm!

Hello so this is my second time posting about ringworm. For the past 4 months it has gone wild throughout my home and although I’m doing all the things I’m meant to be doing I still can’t get rid of it. I am disinfecting the whole house daily. I’m using tinactin in Walt’s sand baths and cleaning...

    Ringworm!! Advice needed!!!

Thank you for your response. The vet put them on the oral anti fungal because the anti fungal cream was not working it was such a serious problem and poor disney for some reason lost his life due to it. Disney was covered in it and had a huge raised lump on his neck from it. In Ireland it's so...

    Ringworm!! Advice needed!!!

Hello I need some advice regarding ringworm. I got two baby chins two months ago and three days into having them I noticed one of them (Disney) was starting to lose hair around his nose. Turns out they had pretty bad ringworm. Sadly we lost Disney 3 weeks ago. Walt his brother finished his 28...

    What's new?

That's great I will order that too. I just don't want to make any mistakes with their diet. I want to have everything perfect so they don't get dental issues like my last chin frizzles did but I also don't want to be upsetting their tummies either

    What's new?

Well thank you for your help I really appreciate it Another question for you in terms of hay. I have read that Timothy is the best but also read that they should be given a variety of hay. Is oxbow orchard grass, botanical and oat hay good? Seeing a lot of different hays on Amazon but unsure...

    What's new?

Thank you for your advice. I'm actually getting two babies in the next month so I'm currently getting prepared for that. I have ordered oxbow essentials and Timothy hay. Just have a question regarding the oxbow essentials. I read a thread here saying they are not good because they are high in...

    What's new?

Hello. I'm from Ireland and chinchillas are not a very popular pet here. When I got frizzles 10.5 years ago the pet shop sent me away with charlie chinchilla feed. I honestly did not know better and gave him that which lead him to selective eating. He would not touch hay at all. I tried every...
