Loved & Spoiled Chinchillas for Sale w/All Supplies in Oakland County Michigan

After much consideration I've decided it would be in our chinchillas & our best interest to find them a new loving home... my mother has been ill and we have some big changes planned which will take up all my extra time & remodel our basement where the chinchillas live. 4 female chinchillas...

Lumber at Home Depot, is the "#2 & Better/Crown" pine/safe?

Ugh... wish I would have read this before dropping another $80 on poplar boards today ;) They better be slow chewers because I have no desire to replace the things I'm building anytime soon!

    Ledges

Going to have to check Menards, my HD & Lowes only have $$$ poplar or select pine.... I just spent $80 and only have 5 boards to show for it, my only other option is "whitewood" and I was told it MIGHT be safe, it also might not. Nothing is just labeled pine that is less expensive. Good thing I...

Those who use lag bolts for ledges, what size do you use?

Thank you for the response, I think I'm going to go with 2.5" since I think I'll add another piece for the guard, I assume the more that is in the lumber the better.

Those who use lag bolts for ledges, what size do you use?

I'm looking to use lag bolts (I have children, and an accident prone hubby... safer not to have long bolts sticking out of the sides of the cage LOL) to hang my newly made ledges. I was looking at the stainless steel options on bolt depot (better safe then sorry I decided, going to stay clear of...

Do you use stainless steel bolts/hardware?

Thank you for all the great info! Almost everything at my local HD & Lowes say "zinc coated" though I did find a decent selection of stainless at Lowes (just no hanger bolts and very limited selection of anything I could use for hanging that didn't say zinc coated), I'll check around online too.

Do you use stainless steel bolts/hardware?

I can't believe that I can't find stainless steel hanger bolts at any local stores, which makes me wonder if you guys use the off the shelf zinc coated ones (knowing zinc is toxic this makes me paranoid) or if you special order stainless steel hardware online? Also what do you use to hang fleece...

Lumber at Home Depot, is the "#2 & Better/Crown" pine/safe?

So are most of you using the select pine or poplar boards? I've made myself crazy checking HD & Lowes and the only less expensive alternatives are what they call "whitewood" at Lowes (which they tell me is pine, but reading online it isn't necessarily pine) and this other stuff at HD (which...

Gorilla wood glue as alternative to Elmers?

Adding poo shields to ledges & also constructing sleeping boxes, did more research and the Gorilla wood glue is also nontoxic/safe and just like the Elmer's wood glue.

Lumber at Home Depot, is the "#2 & Better/Crown" pine/safe?

My homedepot sells select pine ($ and what I use to build furniture with) and they also have boards labeled as "#2 & Better/Crown" as seen in the photos below, I know it's kiln dried but is it pine? No one there seems to have any idea.... I'm making ledges/shelves & boxes for them. Thanks!

Gorilla wood glue as alternative to Elmers?

standard ledges with poo shields in the back, boxes, etc... figured some nontoxic glue would be a better alternative to screws/nails especially in the house boxes. from some more research the gorilla wood glue is = to the elmers wood glue, both are safe & nontoxic :)

Gorilla wood glue as alternative to Elmers?

Hi all! I'm going to be building some ledges etc for my new chins this week, I've read a bunch of references to using Elmers wood glue but was wondering if anyone has used Gorilla wood glue (http://www.rockler.com/how-to/gorilla-non-toxic-waterbased-wood-glue-dries-yellow-coloration/) instead...
