Any Opinions On Charlie Chinchilla Food?

Charlie chinchilla is the worst food ive come across in the uk. Its sometimes advised you do a "hard switch" when bad food is being fed, or where they wont switch, where you remove all the Charlie chinchilla, and provide LOTS of fresh hay for 2/3 days, then introduce the new good pellets. oxbow...

    Silly question

whites are odd. finding out and seeing pictures of the parents and grandparents and further back of one of my white females, has shed some huge light on Wilson whites. (no other mute, so not strictly mosaic.) my line is known to have "spot" of black, or dark grey show on their body, usually in...

    herbs,

now, I'm not planning to dabble in giving my chins herbs willy nilly. I know the odd rose hip or rose petal as a treat is ok, but what herbs are safe, and what are their uses? as in, I know dandelions are a good diuretic for some animals, some herbs are good natural anti biotic. In the uk...

    Fur falling

hey. fur slip is common, its a natural defensive mechanism they have, if caught by predator in the wild the fur would slip and they could get away easily. it happens when scared, if shes not the picking up kinda gal it will happen, so slow approach and go from underneath when you pick her up if...

    Narrow escape

I very much doubt he will get on with another female or male long term. I cannot risk a months of being settled and a brutal attack like that again. I wouldn't want that tendnacy or risk of genetics in my lines for breeding. I pulled another female from him when she looked de stressed. Not like...

    Narrow escape

I had bad experiences of dogs and metacam. It made one incontinent and weed all the time. Im always wary of metacam. Although never used on chins before oddly. Ive been giving the metacam, and antibiotics on her water down food. She was struggling to eat solids as when they stitched her together...

Baby Kit Eating Solid Food Early

No leave it in reach. They eat solids early, I found a four day old munching pellets and hay, dont leave treats for mum in reach though if you give any. Just a good quality pellet and hay. Babies can climb amazingly well, so make sure cage isnt too high.

    Narrow escape

So, yesterday was a mini **** for me. I woke to find a female and male looking odd, fur all round the cage... I pulled him out. Fine, looking good but then I saw her. She let me handle her, and look her over. I worked from bum up, tiny bites... Then I saw her head. He'd scalped her! And her neck...

What gauge wire do you prefer for toy making?

Its about how easy it is to chew through. I use 16 for cages. So use 16 or thicker for toys (lower the number, higher the guage. 10 is thicker than 16 for example) Too thin and it'll Bend and twist too easy. Potentially like string and tying little feet up.

I have two males, one huge(850 gram and 11 months) one small (450 and six months. Growing quicker now). Ones called shadow the other casper. I call them fat bastard and mini me! Belatrix is also known as belly boo. Ive nicknamed one fuzzy face, ... My partners I cant even remember their real...

thought it was about time i joined here!

Its not so much the colour defects. Its the linage and risk of genetics issues. (mal, liver problems, ect ect)Without a full pedegree its hard to know about the animals and where they have come from. Only females of a good weight should be bred from to prevent birthing issues. Breeders only...
