    Bell Collar

With how fickle chins are, I bet they would hate being contained by that. I imagine it would be like putting a collar on a kitten or puppy for the first time while, although they hate it, they would get used to it. However I don't think that chins would get used to it. I think the chins skeletal...

Using the Freezer for cooling plates?

I have heard about putting ice in a stainless steel bowl and covering it so they don't dump it everywhere. However I like the idea of making their water super cold so it chills em as well as putting the chin-chiller in the freezer for a bit. they'd probably like the little wetness on their toes!

Strangest Purchase you made for chins

A filing box that you would typically use for all of your office and filing needs! I cut a hole out of it so that they could hop in and out for a dust bath that had a nice lid and is big enough for both! OR One of those small children's pop up tents on clearance at target for their playtime ha!

    JoAnn Fleece

Getting it to shrink first before sewing is a must! I had my family help me do some of my first liners without washing first and then what happens? Aw, all your hard work goes for naught because it shrinks and doesn't fit anymore! Also, don't forget to buy the non-pilling fleece!

    Fleece liner question.

I did the pillowcase fit as well on most of mine and the best way was to put extra fabric on the ends in order to tuck it in below the plastic pan. Then when you lay the pan down, they can't really pull it up. I also really like the idea that was mentioned of using the safety clips to secure it...

1 layer or 2 layers for fleece liners

I found this batting that has a diamond shape in the batting section of the craft store that I used for my liners. I put one layer of fleece with one layer of batting on the side where it will be laying on the cage floor. The other side I had nothing as I kept the side open in order to put it on...

How to move FN cages? To disassemble or not?

I honestly just picked it up and carried it. When moving, it doesn't seem like such a hassle like that giant couch or dresser does! Just be sure to lift the bottom where the wheels are up off the ground and don't roll it on rough surfaces like say, a driveway. Then your wheel can come off and it...

    FN liner question

I've tried it both ways (the pillowcase way or the regular way) with my boys and one of them just does not want the fleece in his way! I sewed some pillowcase fleece liners and then one of them decided he liked going under it to snuggle up for the night. Perhaps it's the darkness or something...

Does your chinchilla make your skin itch after holding?

I'm actually having the same issue except severely worse. I have two beautiful hetero beige boys and my allergy has gotten worse over the years. My allergy is actually so severe now that I can't even be in the same room without breaking out into an asthma attack and starting to itch. I also...

in need of new bedding and worried shes lonely. help?!

I made my own fleece liners and also bought some from someone on here, I like them a LOT more than the bedding! They are a lot easier to clean and you just throw them in your washer and call it good. I would be sure to dust them off before you wash them and wash them thoroughly (with the bedding...

    Bath Dust/Sand

Yeah, it'd probably be better not to use any dust at all, thanks though, I appreciate it a lot! I might email someone from the website and ask them what is in it. I suppose I could always try the brand type of sand and see how it goes! Thanks guys!

    Bath Dust/Sand

Is there anyone who has personally used it I could get an opinion from? Thanks for the link too by the way. Probably wont buy at petsmart they are always way too expensive at any pet store lol.

    Bath Dust/Sand

I was wondering what the most preferred brand of bath SAND is? I have asthma and I have a really difficult time with the dust. Along with an awful hay allergy which obviously is not fun! I always have my hubby give my two boys a bath in a separate room and I can't go in at all. I was reading a...
