I've asked this question before but I haven't really had luck finding something yet.
My younger cat is always bothering my chinchilla, to the point where I am unable to give him access to the lower half of his CN(I kept him on one level when he was sick but haven't been able to open it up...
Where do you order large boxes of apple sticks?
Usually I order from Strattons Chins but I haven't received a reply to my emails. Does anyone know if there has been a change to her email or anything?? That's where I've always ordered from so I'd like to get more if I can. If not, I was...
It's a critter nation, I don't see how he would get caught?
I bought hardware cloth from tractor supply and only noticed after that there was a lead warning. >.<
I've asked some questions in regards to this in the past but I hadn't had much response so I wanted to try again.
Long story short... For the time being one of my cats is sleeping in my bedroom with me, which is where the chinchilla cage is. He usually leaves him alone for the most part, as...
So I bought some 1/2in hardware cloth to cover my cage. The bottom half is empty but since my guy is doing great, I want to give him full access again. Anyway, I need to rig it so the cat can't get at him. He's only in that room at night but he will pest him if he's on the bottom half of the...
I was taking my guy to work with me so I could be sure he was getting enough feedings. He would get food every 2-4 hours depending on what was going on at the time. I'd get a total of 60-100ml into him a day. He's a rather small chin and I found that with only 60ml he was maintaining weight. If...
Be careful syringe feeding water... It's easier for them to aspirate with water than it is food. He should get enough hydration from the syringe feeding.
I spent months tormenting my guy with meds and feedings... He's back to his normal self and doesn't hate me any less Lol.
I agree with Amethyst. Neutering does not do anything for them behaviorally, all it does is remove the possibility of them reproducing. If you keep him away from females, there is no pregnancy risk. I know there was a user here who almost lost her chin to infection. The risk does not outweigh...
You should never get a second chin if you're not prepared to house them separately forever. Even if they would get along now, they can turn on each other down the road.
I don't recommend neutering just to cage him with a female. Neutering is hard on chins, I've heard stories where they have...
I attempted to bond mine with another and he ended up hating him. There was clearly no way they could be caged together, even though the other was very sweet. As long as you're willing to house them separately if they don't get along, it's worth a shot.
