Hi everybody, I have two chinchillas and one had her eye removed several years ago after it got infected. I adopted her a few months ago and have been flushing out where her eye was every few days or so. Everything has been normal. Today she was acting normal but I opened her eye lid and soooo much white ooz came out (a never ending amount) I don’t know what happened!! That has never happened before it’s usually just a few eye boogies and her eye lid. Is it infected? Did her eyelid burst or something?

Get to the Vet !! Sounds like an infection. Is the area swollen/warm/painful?
That’s the plan, but I wanted to know more before I took her. Do you have any idea how the vet should help her, how I can help her or what to expect? The area isn’t warm or swollen and she’s doesn’t seem like she’s in pain.

That's strange that there is no swelling warmth or pain to the affected area. It's difficult to know without being able to see any of the symptoms. The suggestion below may help.

Feed him a bit of Critical Care with his normal food. Continue to use a warm compress as much as he will allow. 3x/day if possible. After a warm compress flush the area with saline solution and pat it dry. Make a small mixture of triple antibiotic ointment and hydrocortisone cream. App ly the mixture to the infected area. He may scratch some of it off. As long as you can get some of it to stay on it will help. That should be good till you get to the vet.

If her eye was surgically removed, she shouldn't have any "opening" to flush out. When my chin had her eye removed, they sewed the socket shut to avoid this type of situation. I would for sure ask your vet about that.
