New oxbow Critical Care Formula Issues

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone knew of alternatives to the oxbow critical care? I have fed this to my chinchillas for years when they are sick and have had no issues with it. I purchased some new packs and found oxbow has created a new formula. As it was new I wanted to check that my chins would take it when/if the time comes I would need to feed them with it. My chinchillas absolutely hate it and won’t go near it. They smell it and run as far away as possible. I’ve tried mixing 50/50 of the old formula with the new to see if they would get used to it, but they still hate it. Even to me this new formula smells bad so I can’t imagine what it is like for them. Any ideas on where to get good quality recovery formula would be greatly appreciated!

As with all brands of food, some chins will like it, some chins won’t. I have used Mazuri in the past with some success. Currently, I feed Purina Rabbit Chow Show, which is available in the size I need and is more economical than Oxbow and Mazuri. Whichever New food you choose, make sure to switch them over slowly.

I appreciate your response, but I am referring to the critical care formula for when chins are sick.

There are a few other places that make recovery formulas that I've heard people use, I've never used any for my chins so I can't vouch for them personally though.

Fuzzies Kingdom has one they make Syringe Feed Complex for Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Rabbits (I've heard a lot of chins prefer this over critical care)

There is also a recovery food made by Supreme Pet foods, but I'm not sure it's available outside the UK Science Selective RecoveryPlus | Supreme Petfoods

Do you feed the Apple Banana flavor. My chins prefer this over the original.
