Constipation Remedies?

So one of my chins might have constipation, and someone suggested I feed him some dried papaya or a raisin or two. I'd like a second opinion on this, as I'm worried about the sugar content. Does anyone also suggest the papaya or raisin method, or is there other solution? Any tips is greatly appreciated.

No, I would not give a chin fruits of any kind, or treats for that matter if constipated, it will cause far more harm then good. Is the chin still pooping? or has it actually stopped? If still pooping I would try getting it out to play, moving around helps stimulate the gut to get things moving. If he has stopped pooping though he needs to go to the vet. As tunes said in your other post though, it could just be stress of the new cage (also if you are stressed they can pick up on that and become stressed too), so long as he is still pooping, and not straining to poop, it's not an emergency. Keep an eye on him, make sure he is eating (hay and pellets only no treats) and drinking, getting some playtime, etc. If not better in a couple days, or gets worse (stops pooping, eating, or drinking, acts lethargic, etc) then I would take him in to the vet.

He's still pooping, they seem to be slowly getting into a more larger normal size, but still not regular shaped. No stop in pooping either. I'm not sure if he's drinking as much, as it's hard to monitor with two chins, but I moved the bottle closer to his hut. I already gave him one raisin before I read your reply, as I read somewhere that it can help. Something about it can cause some chins to have loose poops. No papaya was given though. Did I mess it up?

Small update, he's drinking and eating fine as I saw him drink a pretty decent amount last night. Someone suggested I still take him to the vet or at least make an appointment if the poop continues to be small, but I'm really conflicted on that. The constipation is stress related, and he REALLY freaks out when being in the carrier and that would probably make his stress levels worse, right? So I'm trying to do anything I can to help at home. I'm pretty sure his poops are slowly growing in size, so not as small, but I still see a few small ones here and there. Better than two days ago though. If it doesn't get any better later today or tomorrow, should I make an appointment? He's already going to the vet in a week or so for a check-up for something unrelated.

If your chin is pooping regularly, even if small, you can probably wait until your scheduled vet appointment. If the frequency of poo is decreasing, I would bring him in earlier.
