Edit: wow sorry about the size, not sure why they've come out like that, please can a mod resize them as I don't know how to?

Bumping this old thread because I want to update on how my cage held up. I got it in 2009 and it's still a solid cage, 10 years later. My last chinchilla passed away on October 9th of this year and it's still in great shape (minus the wheels being long gone and a little paint damage/rust, caused by urine). I may foster some chinchillas or rats in the future, so I'm not getting rid of it yet.

Hello everyone! Daughter has been saving money for the past 2.5 years for chinchillas after a lot of research and as a big surprise we ended up with 3 very spoiled chins. Still getting a few more items as originally we were only going to do one FN cage. We connected them with the top area open to each other. 739B69F7-FD19-427F-80B9-8A98F1EC2F5C.jpeg73B0D686-1B11-48B4-9CB1-B0395012BBC8.jpeg1D5B0D18-E1A3-48A6-9923-BD5DC85EEC20.jpegF0DC3089-54A3-456D-86A5-1586DDA39DF9.jpeg

My two boys got a new cage today! If you have any questions about the stuff inside, where to get it, etc. feel free to message me. I forgot to open the doors to the first level, but basically inside is just a Bass Equipment pan with tile cut to size inside of it, a hidey house, ChinSpin, hay manger, and all the other stuff that's more visible. Also four small ledges leading up to the second level. they now have a hugely upgraded cage that was finished today. What an awesome set up! I wish I could do that for my guys, but it's just not practical.

That looks great. I'm thinking you'll have some very spoiled fuzzkids.

Just wondering if the 3 of these cages fit under a normal height celling?
A triple unit is roughly 90" (7.5 ft) tall, so it depends on what you consider "normal height" but anything 8ft and higher should be fine.

I’m hoping to join this crew. I got my eye on ferret nation double cage.

many question is will another lower priced cage do? I see amazon basics has an alternative for $94 which is a lot less than $239.

Be careful...The temperature near the ceiling is significantly warmer than it is at eye level. Especially if you're not on the ground floor. Keep a thermometer up there. Be sure it doesn't go past 71°F. Keep humidity low. Even cold air can be humid. Like a dark damp basement.🐭🙋🏻‍♀️

Nevermind I got the ferret nation. After looking into it there’s a big difference. I can’t wait until it arrives for Ellie!

Bare in mind I’m a new chinchilla owner and this is my first cage.

I have a critter nation myself, but I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue after many years of owning it..

Mine started to wobble and I have no idea how I could possibly fix this? Sometimes it's squeeking due to one of the chins running on it's wheel. I haven't tried yet, but just thought about it.. Maybe if I could put rubber bands around the round pegs inside of the square cage parts?

Let me know if any of you have more experience with this! All ideas are super welcome!

here is my fn for my girls:)

I really like the set up! I do want to suggest adding more ledges, because it's very easy to fall for them and if they do it can be a pretty big fall from what I can see if they so happen to fall in the middle.
Just a little suggestion, other than that it really does look amazing ^~^
