    Male/female play time

So a few months back I bought a chin from a pet store and they missexed her as a him! I've had her and my male chin seperated since I got her but they seem to be pretty fond of each other. I was just wondering if it's okay to let them play together? She's a terror when she is out on her own (I...

    Missexed chinchilla! :(

I live in a very small town in New Brunswick so I can imagine if it's $400 in Toronto it could only be the upwards of that :( plus I doubt any vet around here has preformed the procedure. this really sucks! I don't want to lose my male chin if I put him under to get castrated, I'm very attached...

    Missexed chinchilla! :(

Hey! I recently got what was supposed to be a little brother to the Gus, put them in separate cages until they got used to one another. It's been 8 days and I have been noticing he has been making what I call his "excited" noises and swishing his tail a LOT more than usual, so I googled it and...

Any breeders in Nova Scotia, Canada?

Is there any update on this?? I found it in the google search and would really like to know if there's now a breeder on the east coast (besides NFL). I live in NB and bought my previous chin from Chickadee Chins in Bangor, Maine but she has since stopped breeding. Thanks for any info!

    Mouthy Little Chinchilla

Kinda sounds like Gus, except for the food part (he's a little piggy lol). He's really good natured everywhere but his cage, but I'd be pissed too if some giant just pulled me out of my house hehe

    Introducing Chins to Cats

I was told that cats saliva is toxic to rodents, but I never looked into it because I don't have/ever plan on having a cat. Maybe just a thought you could look into?

Advice for Hair Ring Check (Would be first time! Help please!)

This is essentially what I do too, only resting him on my lap instead. He's grumpy afterwards but just give him a little nibble on a treat and he's back to normal :)

    Mouthy Little Chinchilla

I've recently gotten by first chinchilla, Gus, and he is an extremely lovable, calm little guy. However, when he's in his cage and I try to put my hand in to scoop him out, he barks at me. When I went and picked him up from the breeder I reached in and scooped him up and there was nothing, even...
