    What do the chins think??

I was just wondering what chinchillas think about when we change clothes. they always stop what they are doing and look at me when I take on/off a jacket or a hat or something. I mean, it's gotta look like we are peeling off our skin or something! If I was a chin, I would be pretty confused...

    Interesting Playpen

How can I make playtime the most interesting and best I can, without having them chewing up the walls and taking over my room? I plan on making a cardboard playpen like the one here. my current playarea is pretty sparse, so I was wondering if one of you chinchillas reading this over your slaves...

Is a wheel more stable on the top or the bottom?

I have a ferret nation, and I'm about to get a silver surfer wheel. I was wondering if putting it on the top section of the cage was ok? because I was thinking it might be a little more unstable (and therefore, more noisy) on the top section that on the bottom. Thanks

    Can chins see at night?

I'm assuming they can because they are crepuscular, but I was just wondering, cuz since they got those big 'ole ears and whiskers, they might get around by feel or hearing or echolocation I dont know!! :)

Either very brave, very stupid, or blind

I read on here about another chinchilla that was blind. someone reccomended making a fast motion towards the chin, and if they didn't move, they might be blind. well, i tried that on both my chins, waving my hand in front of their faces, zooming my hand towards them and stopping (obviously)...

    Chinchillas weird sleeping patterns?

All of you guys always talk about how your chins are always sleeping and are groggy (but not lethargic) just in time for playtime. well, my chins are up in the morning when i clean the cage and feed them the food, but on days when there is no school or during summer, i've noticed that, while...

so the other day i went to jo-ann's and bought some yards of fleece to make liners. i had it piled on the floor in my room, unwashed, and when i let the chinnies out that night they went a sniffed it and seemed very comfortable around it, which is good right considering that they will be walking...

    FN142 vs 182 pans?

hello, i was exchanging emails with bass equipment, for a custom order (possibly) and i mentioned that i have a FN182 not 142. in the next email bass asked how large was the 182. so my question is: what are the exact measurements of a 182 (mine is still being shipped) for pan sizes, or is it...
