Thanks, I'll definitely get rid of it then... Would they jump over a play pen? If I take them out in my room, they always try to get on top of the cage; I've heard stories of chinchillas jumping on refrigerators! Do they go under doors? Or would they get hurt if they jumped off the bathroom...

Giving about a square centimeter of burnt toast is okay. Only give the hay and toast until it is back to normal. I haven't had this problem (I just got mine a little over a week ago) but I've researched most health problems they can have. Good luck!
