    Wire bottom spacing

3/8" is smaller than 1/2"... It's just that they're bigger the other direction. So it's like a tiny rectangle as opposed to a square. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Not using Flying Saucer Wheel...

My chin actually broke two of those! I gave in and got him a larger metal one and that's been a lot better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Wire bottom spacing

I just set up a new cage for my chin and it has a wire bottom. The bars are spaced 3/8" by 5" so they aren't square. All of the other levels of the cage are solid so I'm not worried about bumble foot or anything I just wondered if that is an okay spacing for the bottom? I don't want his feet to...

    At a loss

My lil guy is a biter too. He is super sweet other times but he will not have any of me picking him up. That's when he bites. I started transporting him for playtime in his bath house. And then when I take him back I put him in his carrier to minimize the amount if time I'm trying to hold him...

    male chinchilla humping behavior? help!?

Mine actually does that too. Mostly when I'm stopping him from doing something he's not supposed to do. It's like he does it out of frustration. He makes a little chirpy noise while he does it too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pet-sitters?????

If I were you I would get ahold of your vet and see if he or she can suggest somewhere you could board your chin. Mine actually took mine in for about 10 days at $10 a day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Are timothy hays all alike

I actually wondered the same thing! I assumed they were all alike, but my lil guy seems to be able to tell a difference. I switched brands and he won't touch the stuff! I think it has something to do with the harvesting process and how old the hay is and the quality of it, etc. they seem to be...

    Arm chewing

Ugh I hoped that wasn't it. It's gonna cost me a fortune to replace everything again... :/ Thanks for your advice tho. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Arm chewing

I had tried that when he first got the infection but it didn't work. I'm not sure that it's not a stress reaction but I can't really tell if he has stopped doing it or not. I'm attaching a pic so you can see what it looks like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Arm chewing

Hi! First post... My chin, Bonzo, has been chewing his right arm right above where his paw is. The fur is missing from it and it is red and irritated. He was treated for fungal infection about a month ago and that seemed to clear up (it was mostly located around his nose). I went out of town...
