Apple apple apple! both of mine chew the back COMPLETELY off :) They don't seem to care for the actual wood itself though.

I know right! Gizmo never used his tube, but now that Todo came along, and he used it, Gizmo uses it a lot too. Kind of like little kids! When they see another little kid playing with their toy, they automatically want to play with it again :P

Yeah I just ended up putting the hammock so it was over a ledge, and not over the air, that way they weren't scared to jump in to it..found gizmo curled up in it today, lol. :D They never cease to entertain me :)

Tiles? :) That's what is all over my chinchillas cage. Maybe put a litter pan with some wood shavings in it or something so he doesn't pee all over the tile.

No idea why Todo likes to smash himself between the top of the cage and the tube, lol..Gizmo hogs the tube, I think they're both scared to use the hammock though.

I have a saucer, sometimes when one of my chins is getting down on it and the other feels like jumping off, I swear it's like they're synchronized or something because the one running will jump off the wheel while it's spinning (absolutely NO idea how they do it) and the other one will jump...

I hate Petsmart...Bunch of good-for-nothings...

My chins poop fluctuates in size too, I don't think it's anything bad...different sizes could relate to different amounts of food intake! Gizmo is a lot older than my 1 year old, so it;s obvious to tell differences in poo size! but yeah, I wouldn't be worried :)

+1 to what jags said. I got boys because I didn't want pee spraying at me every time I attempted to pick a female up, haha.

The first thing chinchillas do when they encounter each other is sniff each other's noses. If they smell each other and they smell the same, chances are they won't get in to it. How big was your contained area? And how long have you had them for?

You could always order some ledges from people here on the forums? Under the chin supplies for sale, there's a sticky with everyone's information on it :)

ldewald, I got the carrier from the same place we got the little guy on the left at :) It was 30 dollars i believe! All metal with a pull out pan too. Couldn't beat the price! heh. Valley View Chinchillas in Vista California! I believe they have them on their site.

Had to take Gizmo to the vet today, so I took them both! heh. Vet visits are never fun though! Just some slight constipation.

Edit: The Home Depot in my area has pre-cut sizes of wood, I just go there, buy them, scrub em down, put them in the oven, and use non-toxic glue...I believe the brand is Titebond. Everything together came to like, 10 dollars or something like that. At first I just had three pieces of wood, the...
