No problem! I agree when we adopt an animal we have to be on board even knowing things might not work out. I had really hoped they'd get along, but even if they don't ever get along, they will both have 2 story homes next to each other for the rest of their days.
I 100% agree. I am perfectly fine buying an extra cage section and keeping them separate for the rest of their lives. I don't plan on rehoming either chinchilla at this stage. Just mostly wanted to know if there are any other methods for introducing them that might be beneficial.
We have had our chinchilla Puff for just over a year now (September 2020). She has been alone since we got her, but she came to the store we bought her from with 2 other chinchillas and lived with them for a couple months before we got her (I know this because one of my best friends was pet room...
They get a mix of food: Oxbow Chinchilla Essentials and Vitakraft pellets. They get grass hay mostly, sometimes some timothy hay but mostly grass hay.

Hi all! I have two chinnies, a 7-8 year old female and a 1 and 1/2 year old female. They get along great and have no problems. When we first got the young one, she had some soft stools but we figured it was because her food had changed and she was in a new place. Over time they went to normal...
Ok, great. She is still eating and drinking normally and hopping around like a nut! I haven't actually seen her pee but she seems to do it more when nobody is around.
I'll keep an eye on her and take her to the vet if anything changes :)
Thanks again!
Is it normal for it to be very dark when it has been yellow up until this point? I just noticed it 2 days ago turning this dark orange color.
I will take her to the vet if need be I just don't know if it is really cause for concern.
Hi all,
We adopted a chinchilla in June who was born around the end of November last year, and we adopted her to be a friend for our 7 year old female, Houdini. The two of them get along fabulously and are both pretty good about using their litter boxes.
The new chinchillas (Mars) has always...
