Those hamster balls can be extremely dangerous to chins. Their feet can get stuck in the little air slits and result in a serious injury. I personally do not own one because of this risk.

My chinchilla is an avid biter and It's getting to the point where I'm afraid of petting him. I let him bite me today thinking that maybe he just wanted to nibble and then he would stop after seeing I was not food ( I was wrong, he just kept biting). Does anyone know if this is good dust? I recently bought it and it seems that even though it starts out with that corn starch feeling it ends up feeling like sand. Is this the nature of all dusts? I purchased it at petsmart. Here's a pic: Thanks.
