Well, I can't bake these branches because they are about 4 feet long. But I'm sure that they'll be fine after they have dried out. I've actually been giving my chins unbaked apple branches for years, and that's worked out fine, too. I just arrange the branches in big vases in my basement and they become a decorative feature until the chinnies get them.

Are your chins chewing the white coating on those closet shelves at all?

Nope. Not a bit. There is just to much other great stuff to chew on for them. I have made it a point to make everything possible in that cage something for them to chew on. It has paid off huge. Now when I let them out it has all but stopped them chewing on anything OUTSIDE the cage. It used to be a battle to keep them from chewing on base boards, chair legs etc. But I can't remember the last time I had to chase them off anything outside the cage to keep them from chewing on it. This cage has just been great to resolve many issues for me.
