idea Stars?

I was looking around the forums and I noticed that a lot of members have stars under their user and rank.
The stars are grey and sometimes gold. The amount varies, too.
My question(s)~What do the stars mean? Why do some members have more or less stars? & how do people get stars? Thank you!

The more you post, the more stars you get. The colors change along with the amount of stars.

Certain colors though are just for administrators, moderators, etc.

Number of stars doesn't necessarily mean a user is more knowledgeable though... they could have just posted 5000 comments of "wow your chin is sooooo cute!!!"
