Demi (who's age is unknown because she was a rescue)has been sneezing on and off, lethargic, not eating as much, and has conjunctivitis in one of her eyes.
I scheduled an appointment with a vet tomorrow but this is my first time taking a chinchilla to the vet and I've heard some horror stories since most vets don't have much if any experience with them.

From other threads and posts I've seen that sometimes vets will prescribe the incorrect drug/dosage and I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to know about treating URIs/conjunctivitis before going in and just taking the vet's advice without question.

Make sure the vet does a oral exam at least, x-rays of the head would be good also sice more than likely they will take a chest x-ray. Dental issues can cause the uri and eye infection, treating those without taking care of the source can cause re-occurances.
