Hey everyone. Sorry i haven't posted in forever. I've noticed that my chinchillas (mr. Chewy) Eyre looks like it's losing fur. I don't know if he is just shedding or if he has some sort of infection. Can you guys give me your inputs? Thanks a bunch!:hmm:
 
Losing fur around the eye can be a couple things. It can be from an infection or a corneal abrasion where the eye is very irritated and the chin keeps rubbing at it. It can also be a sign of tooth issues. Your best bet would be to have Mr. Chewy evaluated by a vet.

I agree a vet evaluation is best becasue it can be a symptom of different issues. I recently had this happen to where the fur did look like it was missing but was actually just damp from the eye weeping. I went to the vet and it was just a minor eye irritation fixed by drops. Hope it is something that simple but its best to be sure.
