RIP Bella

I think I may have squeezed my gerbil to death when I was 5 or so. I'll never forget it. I cried for days and still think of her. I had picked her up before and we had a family of them. I usually handled animals quite well when I was young but I just wanted her to calm down and let me hold her against my chest. I still really don't know what happened. Nothing cracked, she just fell limp so I can only assume I squeezed her or scared her to death. I instantly got my big brother and fell to the floor sobbing. On the bright side, I handle animals very well now and am studying for a career with them.

Now, at two I'm not sure if your child will have any memory of this but it can still be a learning experience for both of you. And that's really the best thing you can get out of a bad situation. I'm sorry for your loss.
