wondering if these "snakstiks" could give him splinters

I ordered some "snakstiks" from Pet Products By Nature along with other goodies. The website, service, and products are awesome! However, I noticed that the "snakstiks" (twigs) look like they could get stuck in his gums...they splinter more than the coins and pie slices.

So I have avoided giving them to him...but he LOVES them. Anyone have any first hand experience with these things? I assume they would be about the same as apple twigs that I have seen sold on several sites.
 
Puddles LOVES the snakstiks from Barbi (PPBN.) I personally have never had any problems with giving them to her. She's a sucker for the thin twiggy type! ;)
