hi everybody. we have 2 beautiful girls misty and dusty just 12 months old. about a month ago when cleaning their cage on a saturday night we noticed misty's poop was soft. by sunday morning this was full blown diarrhea.
took her to the vet who diagnosed an intestinal tract infection, gave her baytril (which she detests) and a pro biotic and within aweek all was well. a couple of weeks later the soft poop is back, back to the vet and back on baytril. within 24 hours poop firmed up but another 2 days later are feeling soft again, they also look shiney and feel a little tacky the odd one has a little mucous on it but no smell but they are normal size, she is still on baytril. dusty has not been affected by this at any time
misty and dusty share the same cage, food and water, they get a couple of hours out of the cage everynight and there have been no diet changes. the occaisional treats they had have been stopped since this started. misty eats and drinks normally and is full of energy and there has been no loss of weight (we weigh them every saturday).
watching her like a hawk if no improvement will be back to the vet over the weekend. as anybody any ideas or suggestions or have i missed something obvious.
apologies for the long post
