hmmm My hedgehog has red skin

I've had my hedgehog for about 2 weeks now and as far as I know he was in good health when I got him. He was very passive and friendly. All of a sudden one day he got kind of aggressive and I thought it was because his cage was too small. I got him a bigger cage and he seems to be back to normal. But now he has what looks like a scratch or something on his face and the skin on his forehead and around his head is really red. He's the only one I have so I'm not sure how he could have gotten this scratch. Is this something that can be fixed with an oatmeal bath or should he be taken to the vet?
