I live in Kentucky and next to a field that is hayed yearly. I know there is nothing sprayed or used to treat it. Can I cut hay out of this field myself and feed it to my chinchilla?

Yes you can cut your own hay, obviously with the owner's permission. Just make sure you fully dry it before giving it to your chin, fresh cut grass can upset your chin's stomach and give them diarrhea. After cutting it lay it somewhere warm and dry for about a week or so depending on the weather and humidity. My guys love when I hand pick hay for them.

id suggest making sure its quality hay tho. I have a hay field next to me as well. But 95% of it is weeds and grasses and other random stuff i cant identify. So it wouldnt be a good idea using something like that i would imagine.
