Hi i havent been on this forum in a while, but yesterday I bought my chinchillas some new toys from pets at home including the small veg play patch. The toy is quite small and priced at £7 I thought durability would make up for size. Nope. Most of it was destroyed within an hour. I was quite annoyed at this however it was what I had learnt to expect with the chins. I am making this thread as a warning. When the first layer was chewed off, I discovered a lot of glue. They didnt even dig that deep into it, they had destroyed a corn leaf and straw layer which any pet would and had got to the glue which they have chewed a bit of. This has left me extremely worried and I am keeping a close eye on them. Do NOT buy this product. The packaging says "for most small animals" and "Our veg play patch will provide your pet with endless fun! Made from sisal, straw and corn lead and coloured with pet safe dyes, they will love to nibble on and scratch at the patch, helping to prevent their teeth from getting too long and painful." This states it IS a chew toy, and after such little chewing a layer of glue should not be accessible! This is also available in a larger size and an alfalfa play patch, so these products probably also include the glue.

I have added a photo of what the product is meant to look like, what it looked like after it had been destroyed (when the glue was present) and the packaging where it said for all small animals.

Also can I point out it says nothing on the packaging or website about this being non toxic, normally most brands make sure to state it is but having pets at home sell "death balls" specialised for chins i highly doubt this is safe!!!!!
