I have had my FN cage for about 6 years and I want to remove the inside divider between the top and bottom. Is it recommended to put something (ie. hammock, bridge, etc) in the centre to avoid falls? Do they have a tendency to fall or are they quite agile? Secondly, is it advisable to put the wheel on the bottom or would it be okay to place it above a wood shelf on the top portion of the cage? Thanks!
 
Yes, you will want to put a hammock in the middle to catch them if they fall.

I would personally put the wheel at the bottom, but that's just me. If they fall of somehow, you won't have a big drop.
