I am looking for a more contained bath than the fully open top one we have. When Chico & Chino roll in, they splash sand all over (especially with the tail). I saw this picture on Pintrest featuring an Ikea jar, like in this picture: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/e0/4d/00/e04d00730921e0ac62e3724b446dce98.jpg

Does anyone here have experience with this jar? I am concerned it will be too small for fully grown chinchillas, especially when the two of them will certainly try taking a bath together. What's your opinion about this jar?
Thanks!

I really hope when you say sand you mean dust, the bath sand they sell in pet stores is really not good for chinchillas, it will damage the fur. The glass jar you posted though I don't know what size that is, but I use a one gallon candy jar for my boys that looks similar. Here is a video of them both bathing in it. https://youtu.be/ES_H3-3TamQ

When I first bought them they came with this https://www.amazon.ca/Living-World-Chinchilla-Bath-House/dp/B006BXZJEM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1545369840&sr=8-2&keywords=chinchilla+dust+bath+house dust house, but it was left in the cage as their sleeping house and they chewed it up. I replaced it with a wood house when I got them and bought this one https://www.amazon.ca/Kaytee-Chinchilla-Bath-House-Colors/dp/B0002AS5M8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1545369840&sr=8-1&keywords=chinchilla+dust+bath+house before finally getting the glass candy jar.

The plastic ones should work fine since they aren't left in the cage, if you want to go that route. My problem was the Kaytee hut started to separate over time. I could have just glued it back together though.

Thanks Pixie66!!! I had gotten my chins a gallon size penny jar from Walmart on NYE. Pretty good weight where they won't tip it over and somewhat minimizes the spread of the bath dust. I wanted to see how they would react to it so I put in their cage. They seemed curious and entered the empty jar. Now I think it will be their new bath house. Thanks again for the idea.
